Ethanol-Building Surges in CA
9 June 2004
Most of the ethanol currently used in California comes from the midwest. Thats about to change. First there was the Pacific Ethanol deal I posted weeks ago, in which a group led by Bill Jones, former California Secretary of State, rolled up some ethanol production and marketing facilities. (And, as a candidate for Senate, hes in a bit of hot water about not being upfront about his ethanol interest as he speaks.)
Now Calgren Renewable Fuels has received approval from air officials to build a $65 million ethanol plant in the Central Valley. The plant is designed to produce 40 million gallons of ethanol per year.
