Event Note: California’s Transportation Energy Future

18 November 2004

California_2020_web

CALSTART is hosting a one-day forum exploring the whys and hows for reducing California’s petroleum consumption and increasing its use of non-petroleum fuels by the year 2020.

WestStart-CALSTART is a consortium working to develop advanced transportation technologies and clean transportation solutions. It was founded in 1992 as CALSTART, but rapidly expanded to address national and broader Western needs. It now operates as WestStart with CALSTART as its California operating division. This is the organization that operates the Hybrid Truck Users Forum (H-TUF), among others. (Earlier post.)

To be held 2 Dec in Los Angeles, 2020: California’s Transportation Energy Future Conference is bringing together a collection of policy makers, advocates, academics, and industry representatives touching on a range of topics from immediate improvements in fuel efficiency and conservation (mass transit) through biofuels and hydrogen.  The agenda looks good—but I am hoping that there will be solid attendance from corporate fleet managers and planners at a minimum. The larger the end user (corporate or individual) representation, the better in a forum such as this.

I’m planning to attend, and will report back.

Information on the event is here.
