India Plans Large-Scale Cultivation of Biodiesel Feedstock Plants

20 December 2004

Indo-Asian News Service. India is planning large-scale cultivation of jatropha and kanuga trees for feedstock for biodiesel production.

“The government proposes to set a target for growing jatropha and kanuga plants on a large-scale for yielding bio-fuel to be used in lieu of diesel in vehicles,” Minister of State for Agriculture Kanti Lal Bhuria said Monday in a written reply in parliament.

Work on jatropha and kanuga nurseries and plantations in the 2004-05 fiscal year is on in 16 of India’s 28 states. India imports more than 70% of its crude oil, and is intensifying its efforts to reduce dependence through the use of alternatives.

The Jatropha is wonder plant as it fixes carbon to the soil and produces valuable seeds and this physicnut plant is going to be on main streams to substitute diesel as our natural resources below may become scarce in days to come. Alaways think of better cultivation plans to maximise yields u can contact email singaijack@hotmail.com also for further informations Thank q
