The City of Chattanooga currently purchases fuel on a spot market basis—i.e., no contract or specific purchasing agreement. According to Brian Kiesche, the fleet manager, the most likely supplier will be Benton Oil as they are within 5 miles of the fleet garage and are very competitive with price checks the city has made historically.
They will purchase pre-blended as long as it's available at a competitive price. If they determine a price advantage, they may consider blending on site.
