CNG Use Accelerates in Pakistan
19 February 2005
Daily Times. Some 600,000 cars in Pakistan have been converted from gasoline to compressed natural gas (CNG), more than two-thirds of those being done in the last three years.
As many as 300 more CNG pumping stations are expected to be established all over the country during the next six months, as the use of compressed natural gas in motor vehicles has gained momentum due to rising petroleum prices.
“According to an estimate currently there are around 700 such stations throughout the country, 200 of them set up during last twelve months,” Abdul Sami Khan, chairman Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, told Daily Times.
The transition is being catalyzed by the rising price of gasoline in the country, compared to the price of CNG. The government is also promoting the use of CNG and is encouraging public transport to turn their vehicles to CNG from diesel.
Hello.
I am intending to open a CNG station in dinga, district kharian. I have already purchased the land. Please could anyone provide me with a list of regulations needed for this to happen. Eg, info on equipment, CNG licenses, prices of equipment, suppliers, government/bank financing etc.
I would be very grateful for any information regarding the opening of a CNG station sent to my e-mail address at [email protected].
Many Thanks

Salaam I would like to open a CNG/LPG or petrol station in pakistan on a 1200 sq yard land and would appreciate any advice given on how much it would cost to open all 3 or how much it would cost to open a CNG seperately, LPG Station seperately or a petrol station seperately. What would be the likely income that an owner could earn from these stations. The risks of opening them. How long it would take to build a station from scratch?
Please could anyone provide me with a list of regulations needed for this to happen. Eg, info on equipment, CNG licenses, prices of equipment, suppliers, government/bank financing etc.
Feasibility study
NOCs to be obtained.
Licences to be obtained.
