Vermont Utility Fuels Fleet with B20 Biodiesel
3 August 2005
Green Mountain Power is fueling its fleet of linetrucks with a B20 blend of biodiesel, sourced from Champlain Oil company.
The power company is staging in the introduction of biodiesel, starting with its 20+ diesel fleet trucks in Chittenden and Addison counties. Subsequent counties and service areas will receive the biodiesel at it becomes available.
Champlain Oil will also supply biodiesel for the University of Vermont, and is supplying a public retail pump as well.
Renewable fuels constitute more than 40% of the energy sources for GMP’s electricity generation, with hydro power representing the vast majority of that (35.9% of the total sources).
