Enova Systems has received a major contract to design and integrate hybrid drive systems for service vans for one of the largest fleet operators in North America. The systems will use Enova’s Post-Transmission 80 kW Hybrid Drive System with Nickel Metal Hydride batteries.
An initial order of 13 hybrid vehicles is expected to be delivered late this year and will be put into service shortly thereafter.
Target markets for Enova’s include post-transmission parallel hybrid configuration refuse trucks, urban delivery trucks and intra-city buses. Some of Enova’s current and potential clients for this application include Mack Truck, Volvo, Waste Management, and International Truck and Engine.
The new hybrid school bus built by International and Enova uses a post-transmission hybrid drive system (and also offers a plug-in configuration). (Earlier post.)
