The updated R10 features an enhanced control system for the V-12 engine, optimized by Audi and its partner Bosch. Maximum power is unchanged at around 650 hp, but the power curve has noticeably improved.

Other changes include more compact diesel particle filters from Dow Automotive, a further developed suspension, the latest generation of Michelin tires and a weight-optimized transmission. The car ran with no technical problems during the entire 12 hours.
