CNG-Powered Opel Corsa

German and Swiss partners are presenting a CNG-powered Opel Corsa at the upcoming Geneva auto show. The Opel Corsa 1.6 CNG from BRA GmbH (Germany) and Gasverbund Mittelland AG (GVM) (Switzerland) uses a 74 kW (99 hp) 1.6-liter Ecotec engine with monovalent plus propulsion.

The car features a 13-liter gasoline tank and 136-liter natural gas storage that holds 24kg of the gas. The car has a total range of 710 km (441 miles): 510 km (317 miles) on natural gas and 200 km (124 miles) on gasoline.
The Opel Corsa 1.6 CNG consumes 4.6 kg natural gas per 100 km (combined cycle)—or 6.7 liters gasoline equivalent per 100km (35 miles per gallon gasoline equivalent ). CO2 emissions are 117 g/km.

I can confirm that. We developed – especially for the Corsa – an even more sophisticated packaging concept so that there is no loss in space or load capacity.
