India Begins Promoting E5 Ethanol Blends
4 April 2007
UPI. India will launch road shows to promote E5 (5% ethanol-blended gasoline) across the country.
Last September, the Indian government issued directives that, subject to commercial viability, oil marketing companies (OMC) should sell 5% ethanol-blended gasoline. The OMCs have complained about a range of state-level baarriers.
OMCs have committed to supplying about 75% of the required 1,700 million liters. The government is looking for other sources to provide the remainder.
