South China Morning Post. UK-based D1 Oils (earlier post) plans to invest 500 million to 700 million yuan (US$65.5 to US$ 91.8 million) to build a biodiesel refinery in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, with jatropha as the planned feedstock.

This would be the first jatropha biodiesel plant in China, according to the report.

The plant is scheduled to be completed by the end of next year or early 2009, and will have an initial processing capacity of 10,000 tons (3 million gallons US), rising to 100,000 (30 million gallons US) over five years.
