Mercedes and BMW May Partner on Sub-Compacts

Germany’s Auto Bild magazine reports that Mercedes and BMW are in negotiations over a partnership to build sub-compact cars.
Specifically, what’s being considered is building the next-generation Mercedes A-Class on the BMW MINI platform, according to the report. Mercedes had earlier planned on building the next-generation A-Class on a platform to be jointly developed with Chrysler.
A decision is supposedly due this month.
