ZAP Orders Li-Ion Batteries from ABAT
24 July 2007
ZAP has ordered $5.168 million of polymer lithium-ion batteries from Advanced Battery Technologies (ABAT).
We are extremely gratified to receive this substantial order from ZAP. This is our first order from a US company and validates our US targeted marketing efforts. We’re excited about the huge opportunity for our products in the US, as companies like ZAP proliferate to meet the growing demand for zero-emission vehicles.
—Zhinguo Fu, ABAT Chairman and CEO
ZAP is currently developing a high-performance crossover SUV electric car concept called ZAP-X, engineered by Lotus Engineering. (Earlier post.)
A Delaware Corporation, ABAT has its R&D and manufacturing facilities in Harbin, China.
