Chery to Supply Fiat with 1.6L and 1.8L Engines

6 August 2007

China’s Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. will supply Fiat with 100,000 1.6- and 1.8-liter engines a year under a new agreement between the two companies.

The engines will be used in cars manufactured by Fiat in China and abroad.

Last month, Chery and Chrysler finalized an agreement to develop, manufacture and distribute Chery-made small and sub-compact cars in North America, Europe and other major automotive markets under the Chrysler Group brands. (Earlier post.)
