Honda May Launch Luxury Diesels in 2010

Nikkei. Honda Motor Co. is considering applying its low-emission diesel engines now under development in some models of its Acura line of luxury cars, slated to debut in Japan in 2010.
The carmaker already has announced plans to introduce vehicles equipped with the clean engine in Japan and the US by 2009.

That's fine I guess, but I would rather see them in affordable vehicles for the masses before the luxury class is privied to them. Jeep offers a nice diesel for its Grand Cherokee, but the buggers only offer it on the more expensive "Limited" package, not the base "Laredo" package. Therefore, they can say that they offer a diesel as bragging rights, but few can afford them. Frustrating!!!
