9 October 2007

The Pakistan Newspaper. Pakistan’s natural gas vehicle (NGV) fleet has reached 1,080,000 in June—116% more compared to the 500,000 units in June 2004.

The number of CNG refueling stations has climbed 172% to 1,488. Production of natural gas in Pakistan increased by 566 billion cubic feet from December 2006 to June 2007 and has reached 32.3 trillion cubic feet, according to the Pakistan Petroleum Information Service.

Analysts say that the cause of the shift to CNG is the continuous increase in the prices of gasoline and diesel since 2004.
