India to Increase Ethanol Blending to 10% This Year

India will increase the ethanol blend in gasoline from 5% to 10% starting in October, according to the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Murli Deora. (Earlier post.)
The minister’s announcement came during a meeting with Miguel Jorge, Brazilian Minister for Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, to explore further cooperation between the two countries specifically in the oil and gas sector.
In response to a suggestion by Jorge that India increase its ethanol blend level, Shri Deora said that the government has already decided to increase the blend to 10%.
