Mitsubishi Developing Low-Cost Car

Reuters. Mitsubishi Motors is developing a low-cost car for China, Thailand and the European market targeted for launch in 2010.

President Osamu Masuko, speaking to reporters at the Beijing Auto Show, said the car would be based on a 660cc vehicle platform that is currently used only in Japan.

Mitsubishi offers several 3-cylinder, 660cc minicars in Japan, including the i and the Lyra, as well as 4-cylinder 660cc minicars, such as the Pajero.
