ARB Delays Hearing on Modifying Test Procedures for HEVs and PHEVs
9 August 2008
The California Air Resources Board (ARB) is delaying the public hearing on a coming rulemaking for modifying the existing exhaust and evaporative test procedures for light- and medium-duty hybrid electric vehicles—including plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
Originally scheduled to be presented in a public hearing on 23 October, the rulemaking is now tentatively scheduled for a hearing during the 11-12 December 2008 Board Meeting. The ARB staff report in support of the rulemaking was originally targeted to be out on 5 September.
ARB has also decided no to include EV charging requirements in this coming rulemaking. Those will be considered in a future rulemaking which is not yet scheduled.
