Nissan to Intro New EV Concept, New Production City Car Pixo and Revised Note at Paris Motor Show
6 September 2008
Nissan will unveil a new electric concept car and a new production city car, as well as a heavily revised version of the existing Note compact car, at the 2008 Paris Motor Show.
The Nuvu electric concept is intended to be a ‘new view’ of the type of car we will be driving in the middle of the next decade. Compact at 3 meters long, Nuvu offers 2+1 seating. The vehicle to be shown at Paris Motor Show incorporates a dozen or so small solar panels across its roof. Nuvu also uses natural, organic and recycled materials within the cabin.
Nissan will also show the Pixo, a five-door, four-seater city car featuring an efficient 3-cylinder 1.0-liter engine. Pixo is built in collaboration with Suzuki Motor Corporation, at facilities in Delhi, India. Sales start from late spring 2009.
Nissan has made a wide range of changes and improvements to its Note compact car. Following revisions to its engine and gearbox ratios, a new 1.5-liter dCi powered Note will produce CO2 of 119 g/km. This follows the introduction of a diesel particulate filter on the 1.5-liter diesel engine earlier this year. Additionally, from October, customers will benefit from reduced CO2 emissions from the Note’s 1.4-liter gasoline engine. Thanks to revised gear ratios, it will produce 139 g/km.
The updates to the Note also herald the introduction of Nissan Connect, Nissan’s combined satellite navigation, audio entertainment and communication system.
