Subaru to Introduce Boxer Diesel Forester and Impreza at Paris Show
5 September 2008
Subaru will introduce versions of the new Forester SUV and Impreza five-door equipped with the 2.0-liter boxer diesel engine (earlier post) at the 2008 Paris Motor Show (4-19 October). Subaru will also showcase the Subaru R1e and G4e electric cars.
Subaru launched Legacy and Outback models with the horizontally-opposed diesel engine earlier this year. Both the Forester and Impreza Boxer Diesels feature new six-speed manual gearboxes while the engine itself benefits from a new closed-type diesel particulate filter.
The Forester 2.0D produces 145 hp (108 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) torque and the Impreza 148 hp (110 kW) and 258 lb-ft, both at 3,600 rpm and 1,800 rpm respectively. The new Forester 2.0D offers combined cycle fuel economy fuel of 37.3 mpg US (6.3 L/100km) and CO2 emissions of 167 g/km.
