University of Sunderland to Show Prototype Hydrogen-fueled Almera
14 September 2008
A team at the University of Sunderland (UK) has modified a Nissan Almera (the European version of the Sentra) to run on hydrogen.
The team, led by Dirk Kok from the Institute of Automotive and Manufacturing Advanced Practice (AMAP), in partnership with the Centre for Process Innovation at Wilton and Lambda One Autogas at Gateshead, will unveil the HyPower Nissan Almera at the Partners4Automotive 2008 conference (17 September) at the University of Sunderland’s Sir Tom Cowie Campus.
The HyPower Almera will function as a test bed for evaluating novel hydrogen technologies in vehicles, according to Adrian Morris, Operations Manager at AMAP.
