LS9 Appoints Refining Exec as CEO

LS9, Inc., a biotechnology company targeting the commercial development of hydrocarbon biofuels, appointed Bill Haywood as CEO. Prior to joining LS9, Haywood served as Senior Vice President of Refining for Tesoro Petroleum, where he was responsible for seven refineries and more than $20 billion in revenue.

I can’t think of a more exciting opportunity than joining LS9 as we prepare to move this important technology to commercial production. I look forward to merging knowledge of the traditional transportation fuels business with synthetic biology to help bring LS9’s renewable fuels and chemicals into the pipeline and to the consumer.
