BYD Auto To Show Electric Crossover And Production Plug-In Hybrid at Detroit Show

China’s BYD Auto Company will introduce the e6 electric crossover vehicle and the F3DM sedan, its production plug-in hybrid vehicle currently on sale in China (earlier post), at the upcoming North American International Auto Show.
BYD says it will also provide details about its lithium-ion batteries and the Dual Mode (DM) plug-in hybrid system.
BYD Auto President Wang Chuanfu will be joined at a press conference at NAIAS by David Sokol, chairman of MidAmerican Energy Holdings. In September 2008, MidAmerican, a subsidiary of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, acquired a 10% stake in BYD Auto’s parent company, BYD Company Ltd. (Earlier post.)

This is their second year of selling the F3DM plug-in hybrid. Their battery sales will continue.
