Altech-Eco Receives Final EPA Certifications for Dedicated and Bi-Fuel 2010 Ford Focus CNG/Gasoline Conversion Systems

Altech-Eco Corporation has obtained Certificates of Conformity (COC) from the EPA for its new dedicated and bi-fuel 2010 Ford Focus compressed natural gas (CNG) conversion systems.

Altech-Eco’s EPA approved Dedicated 2010 CNG Ford Focus conversion system converts the Focus to run exclusively on CNG, and the system includes a manufacturer rated CNG cylinder with fuel storage capacity of 8.6 GGE (Gas Gallon Equivalent), with a natural gas driving range of 230 - 330 miles and an average of 39 mpg on the highway and 28 in the city, all with more than 8 cubic feet of remaining trunk space.

The bi-fuel system uses the same storage system. By being able to operate on either natural gas or gasoline, switching with the press of a dashboard button, the bi-fuel Focus can have a combined range of more than 700 miles.

Altech-Eco provides a lifetime warranty on all conversion system emissions components. Conversion systems available at select participating Ford dealerships and approved aftermarket conversion facilities.

Households or companies can receive a $4,000 Federal Income Tax Credit by purchasing and converting a vehicle with Altech-Eco’s conversion system.

The dual fuel might work if they can find a place for the large CNG tank in a small Focus. People complain about lack of trunk space in the Camry hybrid and that is just some batteries.

Make Focus, Fusion and all other models FFV for a few hundred dollars each and put M85 in all stations. That is much cheaper and more cost effective. Get rid of 89 octane mid grade and sell M85. Few car makers and models recommend 89 octane.

They will sell come conversions, but not enough to make any real difference in oil imports. That should be the goal and we should make that happen at the lowest cost with the highest adoption rate. When people see M85 selling for much less than regular, they will wonder why their car can not run on it.

The combination compressed natural gas/ gasoline unit should be the future of most automobiles. Methane/natural-gas can be made from corn at far lower costs than ethanol. You can do it at home. Take the CNG tanks out on the rare ocassions when space is needed. ..HG..
