Ford sells 89 Focus Electrics in US in June
5 July 2012
Ford reported selling 89 Focus Electric vehicles in the US in June, bringing the total sold year-to-date to 97 (6 in May and 2 in January). The company also reported that it has produced 763 units of the battery-electric vehicle Jan-Jun 2012.
The company sold 1,265 hybrids in June—mostly the Ford Fusion hybrid (797 units), followed by the Lincoln MKZ (451). The outgoing Escape hybrid sold 17 units. The results mark a 44% drop in hybrid sales from the June 2011 figure of 2,278 units, mainly due to the lack of the Escape hybrid. In June 2011, the hybrid Escape sold 826 units.
Sales of the Fusion hybrid were also down year-on-year this June, from 969 to 797. June 2011 sales of the MKZ hybrid were 483 units.
