Ford expects 1.0L EcoBoost Fiesta to deliver more than 40 mpg; ST version with high-output 1.6L EcoBoost variant
27 November 2012
Ford expects the new 1.0-liter EcoBoost-equipped Fiesta (earlier post) will deliver more than 40 mpg (5.88 l/100km). Ford is introducing the new Fiesta at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this week.
In addition to its new EcoBoost engine, the Fiesta will offer a new MyFord Touch system with 6.5-inch touch screen that features enhanced voice control. Fiesta still features SYNC AppLink capabilities from the first Fiesta, which allows drivers to access and control Ford-approved smartphone apps with voice commands and vehicle controls while on the go, helping drivers keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Turn-by-turn navigation remains part of SYNC Services.
Ford is also introducing an ST model of the Fiesta, featuring a new high-output variant of the 1.6-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine offering an anticipated 197 hp (147 kW) and 214 lb-ft (290 N·m) of torque.
