Clean Diesel Retrofit Toolkit
04 June 2004
The Diesel Technology Forum has rolled out a Clean Diesel Retrofit Tool Kit to explore opportunities to expand diesel retrofits as a cost-effective emissions reduction strategy. The tool kit, available online, is designed to provide state transportation officials and metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) nationwide with a comprehensive guide to implementing a diesel retrofit program.
The DTF and the EPA are looking to retrofitting as a providing a quick return with minimum investment. The chart at the right details the cost per ton reduction in NOx emissions from a variety of approaches. (Click image to enlarge.)
The retrofit approach wins hands down from this perspective. More detail on each approach is available here.
