Mazda Opens H2 Station in Japan
16 February 2005
Mazda Motor has opened, with government approval, a hydrogen fueling station near Mazda’s global headquarters in Hiroshima. It is the first hydrogen filling station in the Chugoku region of western Japan.
The facility supplies fuel to both the hydrogen engine test facility and the Mazda hydrogen rotary vehicles currently under development and testing for commercial use (earlier post). Mazda’s goal is to sell hydrogen vehicles to public entities and corporations in Japan within two years.
High-pressure hydrogen gas—supplied by an outside contractor—is stored at about 200 bar (2,900 psi) in compressed hydrogen gas tanks and further pressurized to 350 bar (5,000 psi) for delivery to vehicles. The filling station supports the refueling of up to 10 vehicles per day.
Hello - the H2 idea is great; good luck with it. Regards.
ps - could you please tell me the "email" of Mazda's headquarters in Hiroshima, Japan? Thanx.

Hi, I am the proud owner of an MX5 Mark 1. Its the only car ever to be garaged. It has done just over 33,000 miles. I use it only in dry weather, not really for shopping as I don't like leaving it. Most of my driving is with the hood down, and its a wonderful experience. However I am getting older, mid 60s and finding the steering heavy when parking or moving off. Once it is on the open road, it is a dream and has such good positive steering on the motorway. My question is. Is there a way that I could have my steering brought up to date with PAS or would it be too costly?? I can't afford to purchase a later model, and may not find one with such low mileage. Even if I came into a lot of money, I would still choose to have an MX5 as there is no better looking sports car on the market with such clean uncluttered beautiful lines.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Eileen Tracey
