Reva Introduces NXG Electric City Car
15 April 2005

GoinGreen, a retailer of electric cars in the UK, showcased the new Reva NXG electric concept car in London. GoinGreen has been marketing another Reva EV—the G-Wiz—since May 2004.
Created by the Reva Electric Car Company (RECC) of Bangalore, India, the new NXG made its debut last week at EVS-21 in Monaco.
The two-seater is powered by a 37kW AC induction motor with 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) torque driving the front wheels. Regenerative braking recharges the sodium nickel chloride batteries during operation.
The battery pack has a capacity of 18 kWhr, and a plug-in recharge time of 6 hours.
The NXG has a range of 125 miles (200 km) per charge and a top speed of 75 mph (120 km/h).
The car also features a high-resolution single touch-screen display system featuring all vehicle dashboard functions as well as personal communication tools such as a GPS navigation system, a GPRS modem for internet and email access and an MP3 music player.
Dear Sir/Ma'am,
I'm really fascinated with the car. Could you plaese answer the following queries-
1. What is the distance travelled by the car after a single recharge?
2. How long does the car have to be recharged?(since power cuts are pretty common in some areas of Delhi)
3. What is the backup in casr the battery gets discharged in the middle of the road?
4. Name of dealers and service centres in Delhi.
5. What is the total cost?(price + registration cost + insurance cost)
Regards,
Namrata

I am thinking they are quite very cool and am wanting one for my mistress so that she may be more able to be sneaking around without that pesky wife of mine catching her.

Greetings!!
My name is Veeresh Malik, and I head the Asia operations of a small technology company. In addition, I also write on motoring. I have had the good fortune of covering the REVA positively on NDTV years ago, and then subsequently I have been bullish about it for other publications, Now time to put money where the mouth is.
One of my co-directors and founders is interested in buying a REVA car for use in Pune, and so am I. Please let us know how to go about it. I make it clear that I buy this for personal usage, not media reviews.
In addition, I happened to see a G-Wiz/Reva parked outside Marleyborne Street Station in Central London last week and then on the plane home, the Sunday Times Motoring section carried the REVA on the cover. Finally, I met a banker who was about to buy one for use and parking in Central London.
The signs and portents are clear.
Please tell me how to go about this.
regards/Veeresh Malik
