DaimlerChrysler Bionic Car: the ScreenSaver

Hats off to Car Buyer’s Notebook, who was inspired by the viewing of the new Mercedes bionic diesel concept  car (earlier post) to create a screensaver!

Not only was the car a tremendous amount of fun to ogle over, the two Mercedes engineers on hand, Dieter Gurtler and Ralph Hettich, were a total delight, offering detailed explanations about the project, and yes, test rides.

I don’t know how I got the idea, but somehow, around 11 last night, I decided it would be fun to create a screensaver based on my and Mercedes photos. Let’s hear it for the plus side of having Adult ADD! It only took me five or six hours and $60 to buy the  software.

It’s well worth the download, even if you don’t want it as your default screensaver—the photos CBN incorporated into it give you a terrific sense of the design and elegance of this concept.

Could someone please tell me what the likelihood of this prototype ever making it onto roads - American or otherwise - is? Yes, it's a great car, but not if it only lives in some Daimler-Chrysler lab like the Ford Meta-one.
