Corning Targeting About Half of the Diesel Filter and Substrate Market by 2010
03 February 2006
Corning expects a significant increase in sales of its diesel emissions control products for heavy- and light-duty clean diesel applications in 2006.
The company also expects the overall diesel market opportunity in filters and substrates to grow to approximately $1.2 billion to $1.3 billion by 2010. Of that, Corning is looking to capture between $500–$600 million.
The company sells filter and substrate systems into both the heavy-duty and light-duty engine markets. In 2005, Corning introduced a new aluminum titanate filter, DuraTrap AT, for light-duty vehicles. (Earlier post.)
We believe that our technology leadership and ability to scale our manufacturing to meet industry needs will enable Corning to capture between $500 million and $600 million of this more than $1 billion market opportunity.
