50 Buses in Pamplona to Run on B100 Biodiesel
16 February 2007
Fifty city buses in Pamplona, Spain, will begin running on B100 biodiesel. ACCIONA Biofuels is supplying a minimum of 1.5 million liters (396,000 gallons US) of biodiesel to La Montañesa, the public transport operator.
he goal is to expand B100 to all 127 vehicles in the bus fleet. This is the first large scale use by public transport in Spain of B100.
There has to be bull joke in here somewhere.

Good use of public transportation. Buses are such notorious polluters and they tend to operate largely in areas of concentrated population. Perfect target for movement toward cleaner technology.

Is no modification being made to the busses to enable use of B100?

Fuel lines have to be replaced with non-rubber components otherwise they swell and rupture, but otherwise older diesels run just fine on B100. It's the latest technology that has some potential difficulty in dealing with B100.
