CALSTART to Host Plug-In Hybrid Electric Truck Workshop
05 February 2007
In conjunction with next week’s Clean Heavy Duty Vehicle Conference 2007 (CHDV) in Los Angeles, CALSTART is hosting a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Truck (PHET) Workshop.
The workshop will explore how the emerging interest in and technology for plug-in hybrids can be applied to medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and if it can, what market pathways would make sense.
The workshop is open to fleets, manufacturers, suppliers, regulators and others and will explore the barriers to plug-ins, their potential business case, and what next steps would be for the technology.
Discussions of current trials and early implementations will include the Sprinter Plug-in Hybrid Van, the Plug-in CNG Hybrid Refuse Truck City in Fresno, a Plug-in Hybrid Electric School Bus, and a Plug-in utility truck.
Also to be held in conjunction with CHDV are:
- Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine Symposium (HICE);
- Hybrid Shuttle Bus Working Group kick-off meeting; and
- Hybrid Truck User Forum (HTUF) fleet-only meeting to discuss common needs for incentives, purchase requirements, vehicle pricing, joint actions and related issues. By invitation only.
Details and registration are available at the WestStart-CALSTART website.
