Report: Honda Plans to Sell Civic Hybrid in India

The Nikkei reports that Honda Motor Co. plans to sell its Civic Hybrid in India possibly as early as 2008.

Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. will import the sedan after India creates an approval system for hybrid cars. The price is likely to be about double the price of the Civic Hybrid in Japan, due to India’s high tariffs on vehicles.

Honda also intends to launch the Civic Hybrid in China by the end of this year.

I would like to see Honda make a dual fueled Civic hybrid that runs on gas or CNG. I think it could be a big seller in S Cal.
