Study: Nano Sales Will Make Tata Motors India’s Largest Light Vehicle Maker by 2013
14 January 2008
Financial Express. A study by the research firm CSM Worldwide concludes that sales of Tata Motors’ low-priced vehicle, the Nano (earlier post) will make the company India’s largest light vehicle manufacturer by 2013.
Tata Motors would roll out nearly 1.2 million light vehicles (LVs) per annum in the next five years, of which Nano alone would contribute more than 50 per cent.
“Nano will help Tata in increasing its stake in the segment as it is expected to sell more than six lakh [600,000] units per annum by 2013,” CSM World Wide CEO & President Craig Cather told PTI on the sidelines of an auto summit organised by Federation of Auto Dealers Association. “Ultra low-cost vehicles like Nano will also help in bringing new buyers to the market,” he added.
yep, get the people into the Nano and later in one of these former Ford premium cars (Jaguar?).
Could be hard for the competitors.
Nice trick.
