REV and Novex Announce EV Partnership for Courier’s Fleet
24 October 2008
Canada-based courier company Novex Delivery Solutions and electric vehicle conversion company REV Technologies (formerly Envia, earlier post) jointly announced an order for REV’s electric vehicles and a commitment from Novex to a 100% clean fleet by 2012.
This initial program between REV and Novex will use 5 Ford Escape SUVs, which will be converted by REV into pure battery electric vehicles. These zero emission models are expected to appear in the Novex fleet early in 2009.
The Escape REV is a 2WD configuration with a DC drive motor. Top speed is 160 kph (99 mph), with acceleration from 0-60 of less than 7 seconds. Range is up to 200 km, depending on customer choice of pack. Recharge time is as little as 2.5 hours at 240V.
Where's mine?!
Even though it IS a Ford, I would enjoy having one. Of course, having a range of 100-125 miles wouldnt be so nice. Or the price. But, a 2-3 hour recharge sounds appealing. Wonder what the recharge electric cost is for the "extended" battery pack?
