Toyota to Export US-made SUVs and Pickups

Toyota Motor (TMC) will export the Sequoia SUV made in its Indiana plant to the Middle East and South America, and the Tundra pickup truck made in its Texas plant to South America.

The planned exports, scheduled to start in December 2008 and to be conducted through Toyota Motor Sales, USA Inc., are part of an ongoing TMC effort to optimize global production and supply structures to allow TMC to better respond to changes in market demand; they also reflect increasing demand for full-size SUVs in the Middle East and South America and for full-size pickup trucks in South America.

Annually, TMC will export to the Middle East approximately 15,000 units of the Sequoia, and to South America, approximately 150 units of the Sequoia and approximately 1,000 units of the Tundra.

Cool! Now the other countries can buy from us for once. $7 Billion worth of USA built product sounds nice.

And, I think it would be better for them to drive large vehicles, since we cannot do that anymore and be politically correct. Lord help us--we need it! Oh, wait, acknowledging there is a "Lord" isnt politically correct, either. I just can't get all this down pat.

Its good news. All Sequoias, Suburbans, Hummers should be exported to Oil exporting countries. That way, US gets jobs without need to import more oil.

We don't like those gas guzzlers here. Call when you have smaller turbo engines.
All those >4 liter should dissapear and be replaced with no more than 3.5 L V6 turbo engines with a reasonable 400 HP@5000 rpm & 350 lbf @3000 rpm. Does anyone really need more than that?? Ok, keep the big engines for the sport cars (challenger, corvette, viper), but that's all.
