ClipperCreek to Supply Power Control Stations for Tesla Motors

ClipperCreek will supply Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) to support the Tesla Motors Roadster. ClipperCreek will supply its newly designed and UL listed TS-70, which will enable the Roadster to charge at the highest continuous rates in the industry (up to 70 Amps at 240 VAC).

The TS-70 is the industry’s first product to market that incorporates the SAE-J1772 standard for vehicle-to-EVSE communications (earlier post), while remaining backward compatible with the previous standards. (J1772 establishes physical, electrical, and performance requirements for EV and PHEV conductive charging system couplers in North America. J1772 is likely to emerge from the standards process this summer.)

The TS-70 is also available at different charge rates to accommodate areas with limited electrical service.

ClipperCreek, Inc., established in 2006, develops technologies for electric vehicle charge stations. The three principals of ClipperCreek (Jason France, Mike Rogers, and Dave Packard) have a combined 45 years experience in developing EVSE products.
