Van Ness Feldman Releases Summary of EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standard Regulations

Van Ness Feldman, a leading energy law and public policy firm, released an independent, four-page digest of the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposed regulations to implement the renewable fuels standard (RFS). (Earlier post.)
The new program, known as RFS2, mandates levels of renewable fuels to be used by the nation’s transportation sector by 2022, with benchmarks for advanced biofuels, biomass-based diesel, and cellulosic biofuels.
Van Ness Feldman’s report summarizes the 600-page EPA proposed rulemaking, covering topics such as impacts to feedstocks, inclusion of lifecycle greenhouse gas analysis, treatment of existing facilities, and biofuel funding opportunities.
