Geely Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Johnson Controls For Parts, Clean Energy Collaboration

China automaker Geely Group has signed a global strategic cooperation agreement with Johnson Controls. Johnson Controls will provide a range of auto parts to Geely, and the two will cooperate in the clean energy sector in unspecified areas.
Geely is in the process off consolidating its supplier base, and will phase out about 10% in 2009. Within three years, Geely wants to build to 40 core suppliers, comprising both domestic and multinationals.
Geely is a preferred bidder for Volvo Cars.
