Report: Toyota Will Also Recall Sai, Lexus HS250h

The Nikkei reports that Toyota Motor Corp. will begin recalling its Sai and Lexus HS250h hybrids, which use the same braking system as the company’s Prius hybrid, by the end of this month.

The company is believed to have decided to recall the latest model of its Prius due to concerns about its brakes, and is expected to notify the Transport Ministry of the plan early this week.

Toyota is also expected to notify authorities of plans to recall the Sai and Lexus, which debuted in December and July last year, respectively, as soon as a fix for the braking-system software is ready. The moves would affect about 4,000 units of each model in Japan and about 10,000 of each overseas.
