California ARB Holding Public Workshop to Discuss Potential Modifications to ZEV Program
09 April 2010
The California Air Resources Board (ARB) is holding a public workshop on 3 May in Sacramento, California to discuss modifications to the zero emission vehicle (ZEV) regulation.
At the March 2008 Board Hearing, the Board directed staff to look into redesigning and strengthening the ZEV regulation. To develop the framework for redesigning the ZEV regulation, staff undertook a review of the status of current ZEV technologies and performed a broad analysis of pathways to meeting California’s long term 2050 greenhouse gas reduction goals in the light duty vehicle subsector.
Staff presented their analyses to the Board at a public meeting on December 10, 2009. (Earlier post.) At the December public meeting, the Board directed staff to develop regulatory modifications to the ZEV regulation to be presented to the Board in Fall 2010. During this first workshop, staff will review the Board direction from the December meeting and solicit public comments on broad regulatory concepts.
Oh please, PLEASE tell me someone with half a brain will be there screaming to make sure these idiots don't do something like mandate that all PHEV/BEV's must have warranted batteries for 10 years and 150,000 miles when they make no similar requirements against traditional ICE vehicles and their components!
Oh wait, too late...These F$&#ing idiots already did that! What else can they do to drive up the cost of Electrics and delay our move away from petroleum and GHGs???
Go away CARB, just please go away.
