New Lotus Elite Features KERS Hybrid Option

The production prototype of the Lotus Elite, to be introduced at the upcoming Paris Motor show, features the optional use of hybrid technology with KERS. The Elite is set for market release in 2014.

A front-mid positioned 5.0-liter V8 engine delivering up to 620 PS (612 hp, 456 kW) in the base Elite supports acceleration from 0-100 km/h in approximately 3.5 to 3.7 seconds.
The hybrid option features a hybrid gearbox with integrated electric motors and KERS.
Price indication on the new GT 2+2 is around £115,000 (US$179,000).
Only 612 hp?
