Amyris Closes First Day of Trading at $16.50

Amyris, Inc. priced the initial public offering of 5,300,000 shares of its common stock on the NASDAQ Global Market at $16.00 per share. The offering hit a high of $17.44 and closed at $16.50.
Morgan Stanley & Co., Goldman, Sachs & Co. and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC acted as joint book-running managers for the offering. Itaú USA Securities Inc. and Stifel Nicolaus Weisel acted as co-managers for the offering.
Amyris is building an integrated renewable products company applying industrial synthetic biology to genetically modify microorganisms to serve as living factories. Amyris designs these microorganisms to produce defined molecules for use as renewable chemicals and transportation fuels. Amyris Brasil S.A., a subsidiary of Amyris, oversees the establishment and expansion of Amyris’s production in Brazil, including SMA Indústria Química S.A., its joint venture with Usina São Martinho. In addition, Amyris is building fuels distribution capabilities in the United States through its subsidiary, Amyris Fuels LLC.
Folks this is RENEWABLE energy! Better than DOT.COM! Why did not the price multiply by two or three after the first hour? OH Yeah that sort of thing was tried by TIME WARNER getting bought by the non-profit and non-Prophet AOL. BUT RENEWABLE is supported by laws and big subsidies. Oh! That is a clear reason not to invest!. The public of Californ!cate is broke but still paying for high priced renewable ----. ..HG..
