Cummins Receives $7M DoD Contract to Research and Develop Efficient Powertrain Technologies

Cummins, Inc. has been awarded a $6,971,182 cost reimbursement, no fee contract by the US Department of Defense to perform research and development of efficient power train technologies over a period of 48 months.
Under the contract, Cummins is to develop and demonstrate an electronically controlled, integrated power train, which improves overall efficiency of current power trains by reducing fuel consumption, providing exportable electrical power, reducing noise, and which is capable of operating on a wide range of fuels and fuel mixtures.
Estimated completion date is 9 Sept 2013, with work to be performed in Columbus, Ind. Bids were solicited on the web with nine bids received. The US Army Tank and Automotive Command Contracting Center, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (W56HZV-10-C-0370).
Look at the NOAX engine and hydraulic motors and transformers. Or look at the Atemis motors. ..HG..
