AVID Vehicles Launches New Electric Utility Vehicle

UK-based AVID Vehicles has launched a new all-electric utility vehicle with superior off-road performance. With a range of up to 40 miles (64 km) and a 250 kg payload, the E-Warrior is designed for applications including agriculture, landscaping and local authorities, plus estates/facilities management, military/security forces and closed campus operations on universities, ports and airports.

The vehicle is the first in its sector to use dual DC electric motors—one on each axle—which improves off-road performance and vehicle stability, while reducing weight and cost.

The motors deliver 40 N·m of torque each, with power of 15 kW. Maximum speed is 25 mph (40 km/h). Towing capacity is 500 kg.

Priced at £9,750 (US$15,600), E-Warrior is less expensive than standard 4x4 utility trucks and the other electric utility trucks on the market.
