02 December 2010
Among the models Opel will be showing at the Bologna Motor Show 2010 (4-12 December) are the enhanced Corsa and the Agila, both featuring start/stop technology. By the end of next year, all Opel carlines will offer this fuel-saving technology.
The new Corsa ecoFLEX 1.3 CDTI develops 70 kW/ 95 hp and now features start/stop technology as standard. The three-door version requires consumes 3.5 liters diesel per 100 km (67 mpg US) and emits 94 g/km CO2.
Opel offers Start/Stop technology on the Agila 1.2-liter (69 kW/94 hp) gasoline engine together with a Euro 5 upgrade and a CO2 engine optimization package. The Agila 1.2 liter 94 hp (69 kW/118 N·m) requires 5.0 liters of gasoline per 100 km (47 mpg US) and emits 116 g CO2 with Start/Stop technology, some 2.5% less than the same engine without this feature. In the urban cycle, Start/Stop decreases emissions by 4.2%.
This ecoFLEX technology continues in January with the Astra range starting with the 1.3 CDTI as part of the Start/Stop rollout.
