ANSI convening EV codes and standards workshop

On behalf of the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the Idaho National Laboratory, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is convening a standards needs assessment workshop on the codes and standards needed to facilitate the successful introduction, and wide-spread acceptance and deployment of light-, medium-, and heavy-duty on-road electric drive vehicles (EDVs).

The workshop will consider current and future US domestic, regional, and international standards, codes, conformity assessment activities, and education and training initiatives. The workshop will provide a neutral environment where all interested stakeholders can engage in discussions that will identify gaps in coverage and explore opportunities for collaboration and coordination. The input from the workshop will go into a report to be prepared afterwards.

The first day of the workshop will be general sessions with high-level overviews of current work taking place and panel / audience discussions of what work remains to be done. The second day of the workshop will include concurrent breakout sessions in the morning and reports from the breakouts in the afternoon.
