Yamato Takyubin Delivery Co. orders 100 minicab i-MiEV electric vans

Integrity Exports. The Yamato Takyubin Delivery Co., which has been field testing Mitsubishi Motors (MMC) prototype electric commercial vans (earlier post), is ordering 100 units, according to media reports.

The electric van is based on MMC’s Minicab Van commercial light van, and is equipped with the motor and battery used in the i-MiEV. The electric van delivers about 100 kilometers of range out of a single charge.

This electric model has been on the market since 1 April. Yamato will take delivery of 30 units by the end of this year and the remainder in 2012. They will mainly be used in the Tokyo, Haneda and Kyoto areas&mash;urban environments ideally suited to this kind of vehicle.
